Spørsmål
Hi I twisted my ankle while walking, meaning I was walking, and my foot rolled outward. Now, a day later, my foot is still slightly swollen and hurts with every step I take. Should I see a doctor, or is rest enough? I am a foreign student in Norway without a regular doctor.
It is not uncommon to have pain when walking for several days after an ankle sprain, but the pain should gradually subside during the first few days. If you have a lot of swelling and bruising around your ankle, and it is difficult to walk without support, you should probably have it checked by a doctor. In that case, you can seek help at the Oslo emergency room. Like all major city emergency rooms, there may be some waiting time, but they can take an X-ray of your ankle and rule out a fracture, as well as offer you adequate treatment for the sprain.
I hope this information was helpful!
