Spørsmål

Hello ! I am from Sweden. And i have had white bumps on my scrotum for a couple of years now. When I was in Sweden and looked it up, they said it would pass naturally and that it’s nothing to worry about. Then I let the years pass. But they are still there. And I would like to check it out. I am 28 years old and I am studying in Bergen. But I want to look this up , how should I go about that ?? Tusen tack

Hei

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the white lumps on the scrotum that you have observed over several years. I understand that you have previously had this assessed in Sweden, where you were informed that the condition would resolve on its own.

Based on your description, this sounds like sebaceous cysts, which are completely harmless. These are blocked sebaceous glands that appear as small white or yellowish lumps in the skin. These cysts form when the sebaceous glands become blocked, and contrary to what you have previously heard, this is a chronic condition that does not resolve on its own. Occasionally, the cysts can become inflamed and red.

To get a definitive diagnosis, I recommend that you:

1) See your GP for a clinical examination if you have a GP in Norway
2) Alternatively, you can visit a private medical clinic if you do not have a GP in Norway
3) You can also have the condition assessed by your GP in Sweden the next time you are there.

 I hope this was helpful!
