Spørsmål
I have zero motivation to do things. Even after knowing that what not doing this would yield bad consequences, i still not do things . This has really affected my master’s thesis and now i have nothing to submit. I don’t feel depressed or anything i think. I do everything else normally. But things related to me i keep prolonging them. Like booking a doctor’s appointment or studying or applying for jobs.

I am really sorry to hear that you are going through this, but it is good that you are reflecting on what is happening. It sounds like you are experiencing a form of procrastination, which is very common, especially when there are important tasks like your master’s thesis or applying for jobs. The fact that you don't feel depressed or anything indicates you might be feeling some sort of resistance or overwhelm, rather than a lack of motivation in general.
I am not sure what your questions are, but here are some things that might help you:
- Break things into smaller tasks: Try breaking it down into smaller, more manageable tasks. For example, start by setting a timer for 25 minutes to work on just one small section, then take a 5-minute break.
- Just start, even if it is imperfect: The hardest part is often the start. Doing something is better than nothing. Focus on getting something down rather than being perfect.
- Focus on rewards: Find a way to reward yourself for taking steps forward, no matter how small. For example, after completing a part of your thesis or applying for a job, reward yourself with a small treat or a break to do something you enjoy.
I don`t know how far along you are with your master`s thesis, but if you are far from finished, maybe you should consider a plan B? What real options do you have? Can you schedule a meeting with your supervisor?
I am attaching an article about procrastination.
Wish you good luck!
