Spørsmål

Hey, I am worried about having come into contact with the HPV Virus. In my Home country you can geht the screening from 20 years old on, but Here I Heard, that It is only from 25. I really would like to do the test, even tough I am vaccinated, but I am scared that the laborstory will refuse my sampel. So you have any Idea where/ how I can geht tested unter 25?

Hei

I understand your concern, especially since you are used to different routines from your home country. It is true that in Norway, HPV virus testing is not performed on patients under 25 years of age, and unfortunately, laboratories will not make exceptions to this rule.

Let me explain why: HPV virus infections are very common in young people, and the good thing is that over 90% of these infections clear up on their own. The fact that you are vaccinated also gives you good protection. An HPV virus infection is therefore not necessarily dangerous.

Those infections that do not clear up on their own will be detected when you enter the Norwegian screening program from the age of 25. However, it is important to note that these rules do not apply if you have symptoms such as:

Bleeding outside of menstruation
Irregular bleeding
Bleeding after intercourse

If you experience any of these symptoms, I recommend that you contact a doctor for a thorough examination.
