Spørsmål
I am SIO registered student and have GP at SIO Helse. My GP has prescribed me to consult a physiotherapist. There are many physiotherapists in Oslo but they have a lot fees. Is it possible to consult a physiotherapist and then apply for a refund from SIO helse? Or are there any physiotherapists associated with SIO ?
You do not need a referral to see a public physiotherapist, but you must remember to specify that you want to see a public physiotherapist when you contact a physiotherapist treatment centre. When you use physiotherapists who have a public contract, you only pay a deductible for the hour, which is cheaper than with physiotherapists who work entirely privately. When you use public health services that also include doctor's consultations and physiotherapists, your expenses will be registered in Helfo until you reach the free card limit. After you have reached this limit, further use of public health services is free for the current year.
As a student at SiO, you also have the opportunity to be reimbursed for expenses that you have spent on public health services during a calendar year that exceed NOK 450. To get this refund you must apply to Helfo. You apply in January for the previous year. There are no regular physiotherapists associated with SiO.
Hope this was helpful!
